Hey there. I’m a British Columbia-born journalist who reports on power and inequity — and whatever other curious stories catch my eye. In recent years, I’ve exposed the RCMP’s secretive investigation into potential war crimes in Israel and Gaza, showed how cocaine and opioids could be purchased within minutes through targeted ads on Facebook, and uncovered a small-town feud over pickleball that eventually landed at the B.C. Supreme Court. I’ve also reported extensively on homelessness and Canada’s drug crisis, and occasionally I write about culture.

These days I’m a news editor and sometimes reporter at the Toronto Star. Previously, I reported for the Star’s city section and Ottawa bureau. My work has appeared in The Globe and Mail, VICE, The Tyee, CBC and other publications in Canada and the U.S.

In my off time, I try to forget about our dizzying world — or my perennially cursed Vancouver Canucks — by attending too many concerts, shooting film and cycling around Toronto, where I live with my girlfriend and our giant orange Maine Coon, Cashew.
